Colours of Life

As his eyes opened, for the first few seconds all he could see was onyx black.
His parents looked at his pearl face, knowing he had nothing to lack.

A perfect little boy, running into yellow fields,
Canaries chirping, flowers blooming and bananas being peeled.

The simple farm life never created any amber in the boy
Until one day, when grease struck the setting sky.

Entering concrete jungles, filled with misleading vibes.
The perfect boy went pale, as he saw people strive.

Going to the lyceum, with people, not his kind,
Made his thoughts umber, as tension shined.

Far from the farms and simplicity, closer to misery
The perfect boy shattered in dark hickory.

Happiness was forgotten,
Sorrow shadowed as he aged

Hue of Competition

As the torch was lit,
The amber shadowed amongst the fit.

Goals were set, and fields were mowed.
The blue team was patience,
But the fierce red had scored.

The yellow team was radiant as they were next,
Against the underdogs white, who were vexed.

In the next few days, the competition was tight,
All the teams were grinding but
The greens knew they would win the fight.

Overconfidence rose, and teams got nervous
But the reds stood victorious.

Blue was anxious as they were behind red.
But this did not stop their victory spread.

The final day was close, and the teams excited
Blue went against red, and the whole town was invited.

Blue played smart, while red went rowdy,
Blue took advantage, winning their bounty.

Blood was scattered, and leg were sore,
But blue could not ask
for more.

They took the chance, and won the trophy.
All the colourful teams clapped for the blue team’s sophy.

Alas, peace reunited the teams,
And all the players had a boosted esteem.
